A career orientation programme was held at central Proyash, a specialised educational institution run under the auspices of Bangladesh Army, in Dhaka Cantonment on Thursday.
Earlier, on Wednesday, a hearing screening camp was also held there. The two programmes are a joint initiative of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the Austrian hearing implant company MED-EL and Proyash, the leading Bangladeshi hearing-healthcare institutions.
The aim of the programmes was to increase of qualified local experts as well as the establishment of diagnosis systems, research and analysis capacities in the field of hearing-healthcare. Besides, the project goes even beyond these goals by involving all local partners (CMH Dhaka and Proyash Institute, National Institute of ENT and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University) in a ‘Train the Trainer Programme for experts and caretakers’.
These target group specific workshops and seminars for professionals as well as parents, teachers and self-help group members cover all levels of experts and caretakers in the value chain of ‘hearing’.
