Three Bangladeshi migrant workers were killed in cyclone ‘Shahin’ in Oman and their bodies were recovered by the country’s administration on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Twelve people have been killed so far in the cyclone which hit the coasts of Oman and Iran.

The three victims were Shamsul Islam, 55, Amjad Hossain Hridoy, 28, and Jilal Hossain, 45. All the deceased were residents of Parbatinagar Union in Lakshmipur.

Among them, Hridoy was missing since the storm started on Sunday. His body was found on Wednesday.

Another Bangladeshi Amjad Hossain, who died in the cyclone, worked in a date orchard in the coastal city of Saham in Muscat, the capital of Oman. Jilal Hossain also did not return to his workplace. Both of them went missing since the landslide in the area caused by the cyclone.

Cyclone Shahin took a heavy toll on the coastal areas of Oman. Heavy rains caused flashfloods which disrupted vehicular movements in various important roads.
