Amid the ongoing scam in the e-commerce sector, a new online shopping platform, Letsgo Mart, has officially been launched in the country.
Officials of the new e-commerce platform said Letsgo Mart will implement a transparent business model with “cash-on-delivery” feature.
Letsgo Mart chairman Mohammad Rabiul Alam, managing director Golam Mostafa and director SM Asaduzzaman were present at a meet-the-press event in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Despite commercial launching, the apps of Letsgo Mart were not yet prepared to be used for shopping till Tuesday evening as the banner showed that the website was under maintenance. Letsgo Mart managing director Golam Mostafa said the e-commerce platform will focus on on-time delivery of quality products.
Besides, Letsgo Mart will perform social responsibility through empowering women entrepreneurs in digital business. The company has planned to introduce ridesharing, tech-enabled solutions in healthcare as well as services in real estate sector, according to the officials.
Chief Operating Officer Syed Ashraf-Us-Saleheen made an overview on the e-commerce business in the present context of the country.
“The e-commerce sector is going through a challenging time due to controversial business models implemented by some companies,” he said.
“Mobile financial services came to the market to create cashless society. We launched from the concept of e-commerce to make the society shop-less.”
“It also helps the business optimize the capital,” he added.
Officials introduced actress Bidya Sinha Mim as Letsgo Mart brand ambassador.
Bidya Sinha Mim said the business model of Letsgo Mart inspired her to work with the e-commerce platform in terms of ethics and honesty.
