JS body for quick implementation of Sheikh Hasina jute mill project

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Textiles and Jute on Tuesday recommended to implement the project works of Sheikh Hasina specialized jute mill and Sheikh Hasina Nakshi Palli along with paying workers' arrear of all closed jute mills under Bangladesh Jute Mill Corporation (BJMC) within quickest possible time.

"Necessary steps will have to be taken by the concerned authority as the implementation of these two projects must have to be completed within the tenure of the present parliament," according to the recommendation of the committee, reports BSS.

The recommendations were placed at the 10th meeting of the committee held at the Jatiya Sangsad with committee Chairman Mirza Azam in the chair.

At the outset of the meeting, the committee has taken a motion of greetings for providing 'SDG Progress Award' to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her outstanding contribution to take Bangladesh forward to ensure poverty alleviation, safety of the world along with peace and prosperity for all.
