Space app completion of United State-based National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa) came to an end in the country on Tuesday.

During the event, the name of 18 winners from nine cities was announced on virtual platform.

In Barishal city, Winner is Prehim, Runner up is Space Eye and Second runner up is Eco Unicon.

In Chattogram, the three winners are Solar Spack, Celestial Six and Space Crop. In Cumilla, the winners are Texgen, Green Axe, Dainamo Warrior.

In Khulna, Mymenshigh, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Sylhet, Dhaka; the winners are Mahakash, Fly High, Nasa Yeong Explorer, Solaris, Inspotion Okay, Tech Hub, Three Thirteen, Space Eye, Inter Connect, Team Shokweb, Shootaustars, Team Perseverance, MIST Mohashunner Ovhishari, Sast Aspire, Artibots, Buet Zenith, Lubdoc and Luminal Caliber.

The regional level winners of this competition will get a chance to participate in the final competition.   

Some 125 teams from nine regions – Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Barishal, Khulna, Mymenshigh and Cumilla – participated in the competition simultaneously held across 251 cities globally.

For the sixth time in a row, Bangladeshi students participated in the space apps challenge under the supervision of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).

University Grants Commission (UGC) Bangladesh and Basis Students Forum are partners of the event, said a press release.

UGC member Prof Md Sajjad Hossain, acting president of BASIS Farhana A Rahman and NASA Space Challenge advisor, judge, mentor and thousands of competitors were present on the occasion.
