Mominul Haque struck a brilliant hundred while Mushfiqur Rahim and Najmul Hossain continued their blazing form as Bangladesh A team secured a 30-run win over High Performance Unit in a high-scoring second 50-over contest in Chattogram on Thursday.

Mominul scored 128 off 121 balls while Mushfiqur and Najmul made 62 off 53 balls and 67 off 85 balls respectively as Bangladesh A posted 322-7 in their stipulated overs after electing to bat first.

HP Unit pacer Rejaur Rahman finished with 4-42 for his side.

In reply, HP Unit openers Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain gave them a rollicking start with a 136-run opening stand before the latter was dismissed after making 77 off 58 balls.

Tanzid scored the highest 86 off 102 balls while Towhid Hridoy made 49 off 56 balls but HP Unit could only manage to score 292-9 in 50 overs to go 0-2 down in the four-match series.

Mushfiqur, who isn’t known much for his ground fielding, took a spectacular catch at the boundary line to send Shahadat Hossain to the dressing room off Mohammad Mithun during HP Unit innings.

Bangladesh A team pacer Rubel Hossain claimed 3-69 while Nayeem Hasan and Kamrul Islam took two wickets each for their side.

The third and fourth 50-over contests will be played on Saturday and Monday respectively at the same venue.
