Mujib Amar Pita’, the first full-length animated film of the country, premiered at Star Cineplex in Bashundhara City on Tuesday, marking the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Information Minister and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the premiere show in the evening.
Directed by Sohel Mohammad Rana, the movie will be released across the country on October 1.
About the film, Hasan Mahmud said, “The film based on the book written by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a milestone in the field of country’s film industry. Animated movies have previously been made in the country but 'Sheikh Mujib Amar Pita' (My Father Mujib) is the first one that got censorship clearance.”
State Minister for ICT, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, who presided over the inaugural programme’ said “This film depicts how the Bangabandhu’s daughter saw her father, which will hopefully inspire everyone in this nation.”
The Information and Communication Technology Division funded the film.
Bangabandhu’s Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Chief Coordinator Dr Kamal Abdul Naser and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum Curator Dr Nazrul Islam Khan, among others, spoke the inaugural function.
