Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested five suspected robbers in connection with the daring robbery on a running train in Mymensingh.
Two passengers were killed and another was injured in the robbery on Thursday night.
Ashraful was first arrested from Shikarikanda area of Mymensingh on Saturday. Members of the RAB later arrested the others from different places on the basis of the information given by him.
The matter has been disclosed at a press conference organised by the RAB.
RAB said the arrestees are active members of an organised gang of armed robbers.
They have been carrying out robberies on running trains on Mymensingh-Jamalpur route for long.
The daring robbery took place on the Dewanganj-bound commuter train from Mymensingh on Thursday night.
Hanufa Begum, mother of a deceased victim named Sagar hailing from Bagerhata area of Jamalpur town, filed a case in this connection. Though no one's name was mentioned in the case, the gang members were identified and arrested by RAB members.
The arrestees will be handed over to the railway police.
