Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday warned that his party will give a befitting reply to BNP if it tries to launch arson attacks again.
“Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s series of meetings are nothing but part of a series of conspiracies. If BNP plans acts of sabotage and makes an evil attempt again to launch arson attacks to thwart the country’s ongoing progress, Awami League along with the people will give a befitting reply to them,” he said.
The minister came up with the warning as BNP is holding a series of meetings to outline a plan to wage a movement against the government and reform Election Commission.
Quader claimed that BNP is holding meetings to create unrest by resorting to violence throughout the country.
About BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s comment that there is no achievement in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ongoing foreign visit, Quader said, “Fakhrul, you have no information. You didn’t read the New York Times newspaper. Prime Minister’s all speeches, including her speech at the United Nations General Assembly, have been lauded by the world leaders.”
Quader said in her speech Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called for eliminating vaccines divides between the rich and the poor to ensure vaccine for all.
“Fakhrul, haven’t you heard the news? Didn’t you read the New York Times?” he said.
AL Sub-Committee Member Secretary and AL Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi moderated the programme.
