Eminent musician Sujeya Syam has directed music and composed five songs, marking the birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Seven prominent singers of the country have lent their voices to the songs.
Penned by National Film Award-winning lyricist Kabir Bakul, the five songs are ‘Durshopner Ghhor Kete’, ‘Banglar Ghore Ghore Poth Ghat Prantore’, ‘Baba Beche Thakle’, ‘Apan Mohimate Tubou Bangladesh’ and ‘Bangabandhu Bangamata Bangakonna Tumi’. The singers of the songs are Yousuf Ahmed Khan, Nishita Barua, Sabbir Zaman, Priyanka, Dinat Jahan Munni, Haimanti Rakhsit and Kamal Ahmed.
About the songs, Sujeya Syam said, “I never imagined that I can return to work after my illness. By the grace of the Almighty, I’m back to music again. I’m overwhelmed that I’ve tuned and directed five songs on our honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It’s a great achievement of my life. I want to express my gratitude to Bangladesh Betar. And my best wishes to the singers who have sung the songs.”
The songs will be broadcast on Bangladesh Betar all day long on the birthday of Sheikh Hasina tomorrow.
Born in Sylhet in 1946, singer, composer and music director Sujeya Syam won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director three times for the films ‘Hason Raja’, ‘Joyjatra’ and ‘Obujh Bou’ He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2018.
