Bangladesh opener Soumya Sarkar’s T20 World Cup preparation goes in jeopardy as he is unlikely to feature for Bangladesh A team in the opening two one-day games against High Performance Unit in Chattogram.

Soumya was expected to feature in the series as part of his preparation but due to the illness of his father-in-law, he is now unlikely to play the matches, informed BCB Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin on Saturday.

However, Mushfiqur Rahim will feature for Bangladesh A team while Shamim Hossain and Aminul Islam will play for High Performance Unit in the opening two games.

Meanwhile, the BCB also decided to add another one-day game in the series and now there will be four 50-over matches, scheduled to be held on September 28, 30, October 2 and 4 respectively.
