Swiss delegation visits M4C projects in Bogura

BOGURA: Deputy Head of Cooperation at Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh Corinne Henchoz Pignani visited Making Markets Works for Chars (M4C) at Rural Development Academy (RDA) in Bogura.

M4C and Chars Development Research Centre (CDRC), a specialised centre of RDA of the government, are jointly working towards building market linkages for char development and reducing poverty and vulnerability of char people by enhancing opportunities for income generation.

The visit was undertaken to meet the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) team members of M4C project mandated by the Embassy of Switzerland and Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD&C), and implemented by Swisscontact in collaboration with RDA.

Before visiting project Corinne Henchoz Pignani met with Khalil Ahmed, Director General of RDA, Bogura, in his office.

She was accompanied by Dr Abdullah Al Mamun, Director (Social Science), RDA, Bogura, Syeda Zinia Rashid, PhD, Senior Programme Officer of Embassy of Switzerland and Mr Mujibul Hasan, Country Director of Swisscontact Bangladesh.

Later, Corinne also met and interacted with M4C Project Team Comprising of members of Swisscontact country office, project implementation unit (PIU) and staff members of CDRC.

The visit was conducted maintaining Covid-19 protocols, social distancing and usage of mask as well as sanitizers.
