Nadia to play NGO activist in ‘Notun Aloy’

Popular small screen actress Nadia Ahmed will be seen as a NGO activist in her new drama. The title of the drama is ‘Notun Aloy’. Written and directed by Md. Ishaque Faruquee, the drama will be aired on a private television on October 4 on the occasion of World Children’s Day.

Nadia Ahmed will be seen as Tania while child artiste Lamia Akhter as Arifa in the true events- based play.

The story is that- Hanufa Begum, a widow who is ill and lives in a slum with her daughter Arifa. Azgar, the alleged brother of the slum dweller, explained to him and gave Arifa a job in the flat. Arifa reaches out to the Sharif-Nusrat couple. Although Sharif is mild-mannered but his wife Nusrat is very angry and grumpy.  She doesn’t work on its own. Arifa came to her house and was tortured. Slaps, hot pegs, belts - nothing is left out. Sharif-Nusrat’s neighbour Neela’s cousin  Tania is an NGO worker. Neela informed the matter to Tania. Then? Can Tania save Arifa?  

The filming of the drama took place at different locations of Mohammadpur and Uttara area in the capital.

Besides Nadia and Lamia Akhter, Apu Ahmed, Tonmoy Sohel, Dolon Dey, Rakib Hasan Bappy, Riaj Raj, Samiha Akter Sorna, Roksana Akter Popi and others will be seen acting the drama.
