Three sued on graft charge

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Friday filed a case against three people including former superintendent of Kushtia General Hospital Dr Abu Hasanuzzaman on charges of embezzling money.

ACC Deputy Assistant Director Md Shahidur Rahman filed the case with its integrated district office in Kushtia accusing the trio, said ACC public relations officer M Arif Sadiq.

The two others are AHM Abdus Quddus, a former training engineer of National Electro Medical Equipment Maintenance, Workshop, and Training Center (NEMEMW & TC) and Jahedul Islam, proprietor of M/S Paragon Enterprise.

According to the case statement, the accused in collusion with each other caused losses of Tk 1.10 crore through purchasing medical equipments for Kushtia 250-bed General Hospital with additional prices during 2018-19 fiscal year.
