Afghanistan U-19 batsman Bilal Sayedi struck a hundred as the visitors continued their domination over Bangladesh counterparts in the lone Youth Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Bilal scored 101 off 291 balls before his retiring hurt while Kamran Hotak made 66 off 175 balls as Afghanistan scored 226-8 at stumps of the second day’s play and took a lead of 64 runs over Bangladesh in their first innings.
Resuming an overnight score of 40-2, Afghanistan were soon reduced to 84-6 before Bilal and Kamran put up a mammoth 140-run stand for the seventh wicket to give their side the lead in the match.
Bangladesh skipper Aich Mollah trapped Kamran in front to break the stand while Bilal was too retired out after smashing 12 fours and a six in his innings.
For Bangladesh, off-spinner Ashraful Islam was the most successful bowler, claiming 3-63.
