RT-PCR testing facility for detecting coronavirus for outbound air passengers would be available from tomorrow at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque made the announcement after inspecting the latest situation of setting up testing labs at the HSIA on Thursday. “I personally came here the day before yesterday and fixed the place for setting up the RT PCR labs as soon as possible. Hopefully, it will be possible to complete the construction of the infrastructure this evening (Thursday),” he said.
When asked about the number of PCR labs and the number of people who can be tested in these labs daily, Zahid Maleque said, “Twelve machines would be installed here in a total of six labs. Through these labs, samples of at least 3,500 to 4,000 people would be tested every day.”
He also said that both the Rapid PCR Lab for testing at the fastest time and RT PCR Lab for general testing will be operated here.
