Former national skipper Khaled Mashud on Monday hinted that he might run in the upcoming BCB board of directors’ election, scheduled next month.

The 45-year old, who was previously a BCB councillor in former players’ quota, received his councillorship from Rajshahi Divisional Sports Association this year.

“I will run in the election only if I find the election environment suitable and everyone wants me in the election. Otherwise, I won’t run,” Mashud said.

If Mashud runs in the election, he may face the current BCB Director from Rajshahi Division Saiful Alam Swapon Chowdhury, who also expresses his interest to run for the third time in a row.

Saiful received councillorship from Pabna District this year. A total of nine votes are in Rajshahi Division.

“I have come to the board twice by getting elected from the elections. If the same situation arises again, I will definitely run in the election,” Saiful said.

Meanwhile, a total of 174 councillors submitted their forms by the end of the last date of form submission on Monday. All the councillors can cast their votes in the upcoming BCB board of directors’ election.

The councillors’ list is likely to be provided to the election commission today while a BCB board of directors’ meeting is also scheduled to take place at the BCB headquarters today.
