Bangladesh national women’s team will take on their Jordan counterparts in their opening Group G match of AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers at Bunyodkor Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan today.
The match is scheduled to start at 04:00pm Bangladesh Standard Time.
Bangladesh team didn’t have an ideal preparation before coming into the qualifying event as they lost one and drew another during a two-match FIFA friendly series against Nepal in Kathmandhu earlier this month.
However, national women’s team skipper Sabina Khatun was optimistic of the girls’ doing well during the qualifying event which will get underway today.
“We have adapted to the weather here. There were some good sessions in the last few days that made us mentally and physically prepared ahead of the first match against Jordan tomorrow (today),” Sabina said in a video message on Saturday.
The women’s team will play their last qualifying round match against Iran in the three-team group on Wednesday while Jordan and Iran will play the last group match on September 25 at the same venue.
