An air passenger was arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital on Saturday for allegedly trying to smuggle Yaba tablets into Saudi Arabia.

Some 18,000 Yaba pills were seized from Swapan Matubbar, a passenger of a flight of BG4049 bound for Dammam, the sixth most populous city in Saudi Arabia, said sources in the airport.

Suspecting something fishy, two staffs -- Nuruzzaman and Yunus Ali -- of the airport scanned his bag and found the pills, said the sources.

Swapan was going to sell the pills to addicts living in Dammam. Next legal action against him is underway.
