Sadek Bachchu’s 1st death anniv today

Today is the first death anniversary of renowned actor Sadek Bachchu, who was popularly known for his negative roles. 

Born as Mahbub Ahmed Sadek in Chandpur on January 1 in 1955, Sadek Bacchu started his career on the stage. He performed in plays like ‘Kafoner Pocket Nai’, ‘Cap and Kulangar’ among others. ‘Khelaghor’ is one of his most famous radio shows.

His debut television show was ‘Prothom Ongikar’, which aired in 1978. ‘Gronthik Gono Kohe’, ‘Jonaki Jole’, ‘Shojon Badhiar Ghat’, ‘Purbo Ratri Purbo Din’ and ‘Nakshi Kanthar Math’ are among his popular shows for BTV.

Sadek Bacchu started his film career with ‘Ramer Sumoti’ directed by Shohidul Amin in 1985. But he came into the limelight with the film, ‘Chadni’, directed by Ehtesham, in 1991.

Sadek Bacchu has acted over 500 films in his career.  His notable movies are-- ‘Jibon Nodir Tire’, ‘Koti Takar Kabin’, ‘Pita Matar Amanot’, ‘Shujon Shokhi’, ‘Mayer Chokh’, ‘Amar Praner Shami’, ‘Bhalobasha Zindabaad’, ‘Badhuboron’, ‘Lobhe Paap Paape Mrittu’ and ‘Mon Boshe Na Porar Table E’.

The noted actor won the National Film Award for the film, ‘Ekti Cinemar Golpo’ in 2018. He breathed his last on September 14 in 2020 at a hospital in the capital due to corinavirus.
