CHATTOGRAM: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan has said the family of former military ruler Ziaur Rahman is the agent of evil-souls of Pakistan.

“Zia’s family is the agent of the evil-souls of anti-liberation-force Pakistan. Tarique Rahman wants to capture the country sitting in London. But, we will not sit idle,” he said.

The state minister made the comments while talking to journalists at a view-exchange meeting at VIP Lounge of Chattogram Press Club on Monday.

Dr Md Murad Hassan said none would be allowed to do the politics in the name of religion on the soil of Bangladesh more.

“Traitors Mustaq-Zia killed the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and we want posthumous trial of the main killer,” he said.

In his speech, the state minister also called upon all to be united over the fundamental issues.

Raising question about ‘Zia Museum’ developed at the old Circuit House in the port city, Dr Murad also said, “Why there should be a museum of a killer at the spot where he was killed.”

“We shouldn’t run a museum of killer Zia spending the state’s money earned from taxes of people. It will not have in Chattogram and I will talk to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in this regard”, said the state minister.

MA Hannan read out the proclamation of the independence from the Kalurghat Radio Station. The microphone Hannan used will not be kept at the Zia Museum and it will be taken to the Kalurghat again, said Dr Murad.

Chattogram Press Club President Ali Abbas presided over the meeting while General Secretary Chowdhury Farid, former President Kalim Sarwar, Vice President SM Ibrahim, Treasurer Rashed Mahmud, Library Secretary Mintu Chowdhury, Publicity and Publication Secretary Aliur Rahman and Chattogram Union of Journalists General Secretary M Shamsul Islam addressed it, among others.

The Press Club Joint Secretary Nazrul Islam conducted the programme.
