A total of 315 more dengue patients were hospitalised across the country during the last 24 hours till Sunday morning.
The number of dengue cases has been increasing day by day in the country as near 1500 dengue patients have been hospitalized and six died in the last five days this month.
It said 1460 dengue patients were hospitalised in September, 7,698 dengue patients were hospitalized in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June, 43 in May, three in April, 13 in March, nine in February and 32 in January this year.
Some 12 dengue patients died across the country in last month July, 34 dengue patients died in the last month August and six in September, the health directorate data added.
The DGHS said 262 new patients were hospitalised in the capital and 53 patients were outside the city in the last 24 hours till 8am yesterday.
A total of 1131 patients diagnosed with dengue are now receiving treatment at 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while 149 outside the city, it said.
The number of death from the dengue disease also has been increasing day by day as a total of 52 deaths caused by dengue have been reported in hospitals this year, the DGHS added.
A total of 11,816 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country including in Dhaka city since January until September 5 this year.
So far, 10,481 dengue patients have been released from hospitals after recovery, the DGHS report said.
Amid rise in dengue cases, the DGHS announced six hospitals in Dhaka dedicated for dengue patients.
The all government hospitals including coronavirus designated hospitals across the country including in Dhaka also have been asked to admit the dengue patients, the DGHS officials said.
