Photo exhibition ‘Scorched lives at Hashem Foods’ begins today

Drik Picture Library has organised a two-week-long exhibition titled ‘Scorched lives at Hashem Foods’ at Drik gallery in the capital to protest against the recurrent structural deaths. The exhibition will be inaugurated at 5:30 today, marking the 32nd founding anniversary of the Drik Picture Library.

 Professor Anu Muhammad, organiser and artist Bithi Ghosh, and on behalf of Drik photographers Shahidul Alam and Suman Paul will be present at the inauguration ceremony.

The exhibition will showcase pictures taken during and after the fatal fire at Hashem Foods by Drik photographers Suman Paul, Istiak Karim, Parvez Ahmad, and Shahidul Alam. In addition, as a testimony to the brutal killing, the exhibition will feature pictures, stories, and items of the 54 victim workers.

Following the Covid-19 health safety guidelines, the exhibition will remain open to the public from 3:00pm to 8:00 pm every day till 20 September.
