Cricketer killed in road accident

A Kalabagan Krira Chakra cricketer Shohidul Islam Nirob Khan died in a road accident in Farmgate area in the capital on Friday night.

His friend Afzal Hossain was also injured in the accident and is now undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board and other members of the cricket fraternity expressed condolence at the passing away of cricketer Shohidul.

The 32-year old left-arm-spinner had appeared for Agrani Bank Cricket Club in the Dhaka First Division Cricket League during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.

The Board extended condolences and sympathies to the family of Shohidul.

A case was filed in this regard, Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Salahuddin Miah confirmed the media.
