Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday said Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is daydreaming about a mass uprising.
“They (BNP) are daydreaming about a mass upsurge as the people have no interest in it, not even the party activists. Party activists don’t have any confidence in BNP leadership,” he said.
The minister joined the discussion marking National Mourning Day from his official residence on parliament premises in the capital.
Quader said mass uprising is nothing but a daydream of the BNP as it can’t even hold a procession for the release of the party chief.
Replying to an allegation from BNP that the incumbent government is isolated from the people, Quader said it is BNP which is isolated from the people and also rejected by the people, not the Awami League.
