The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday decided to launch probes against three persons, including former Public Works Minister Mirza Abbas and former Inspector General (Prisons) Brigadier General (retd) Syed Iftekhar Uddin, on graft charges.
The anti-graft body took the decisions at a regular meeting held at the commission headquarters in the capital’s Segunbagicha, said ACC Secretary Anwar Hossain Hawlader.
Meanwhile, the ACC also took a decision to carry out probe against former Lakshmipur lawmaker Shahid Islam Papul who was imprisoned in Kuwait in another case filed for bribery and human trafficking.
There are allegations that ex-MP Papul got chance to participate in the 11th parliamentary elections through providing a large amount of money to some important politicians.
Earlier, the ACC also filed a case against Papul and his family members on charges of amassing wealth illegally and money laundering.
