FM mourns loss of lives in Haiti quake

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has expressed his deep condolences over the loss of lives from the massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti.

In a message sent to Foreign Minister of Haiti Claude Joseph, Momen conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, relatives and friends.

He wished quick recovery to those who have been badly affected by the deadly earthquake, said a press release of the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.

“My thoughts and prayers are with your government and the people of Haiti at this difficult time,” the FM added. He hoped the country would soon be able to overcome the impact of the catastrophe.

“Bangladesh has been ravaged by natural disasters time and again, but we have overcome these calamities with strong leadership and resilience of the people,” the FM mentioned.
