Sr photojourno Didar dies

CHATTOGRAM: Didarul Alam, senior photojournalist of Bangladesh Pratidin Chattogram Bureau, passed away in Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) at around 4:00pm on Thursday. He was 52.

He had been suffering from different physical complications including diabetes. He was also infected with coronavirus one month ago.

Didar felt sick on Wednesday night and was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the CMCH.

He left behind his wife, a daughter and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Didar was buried at his family graveyard at Mekhal under Hathazari upazila in the district after several namaz-e-janazas on Thursday night.

He served as president of Chattogram Photojournalist Association and was a member of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ).

Earlier, he worked for different dailies including Daily Jugantor and The Independent.

Bangladesh Pratidin Editor and News24 CEO Naem Nizam, BFUJ Vice-President Reaz Hyder Chowdhury, Chattogram Union of Journalists (CUJ) President Mohammad Ali, General Secretary M Shamsul Islam, Chattogram Press Club President Ali Abbas and General Secretary Chowdhury Farid expressed profound sock at his death.

They also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended their deep sympathy to bereaved family members.
