Bangladesh Cricket Board has rescheduled the seven-week long training camp of their High Performance unit due to the coronavirus scare, an official confirmed on Thursday.

The camp was expected to get underway on Thursday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram but they had to reschedule the camp after some of the cricketers were found false Covid-19 positive.

“We have done the second test of all the cricketers and found out that all are negative which meant that they were reported false positives. It forced us to reschedule the timing of the camp,” HP unit manager Jamal Babu told The Daily Sun.

“The camp will start from Sunday (August 22),” he added.

A total of 22 cricketers, who are currently in the Krira Palli in the capital, will take part in the camp which will be held in a bio-secure environment.

The HP squad is also scheduled to play three 50-over matches and two four-day matches against Bangladesh A team during their camp.

The three 50-over matches are scheduled on September 2, 4 and 6 respectively while the first four-day match will start from September 9 and the next game will take place from September 15. The camp will end on October 8.
