Momotaz lends voice to a movie song again

Folk Queen Momotaz Begom has been enthralling music lovers over the years. She also presented many hit numbers. The singer also did playback for many movies. Recently, Momotaz has lent her voice to a new movie’s song.

The song titled ‘E Ek Ajob Buro Khokha’, ‘Mathai Ghuro Khelar Poka’, will be used in Raihan Rafi-directed upcoming film Damal.

  The lyrics of the track have been penned by Russel Mahmud while music is composed by Arafat Mohsin Nidhi.

The recording of the song was completed at a studio in the capital’s Niketon area on Wednesday.

About the song, Momotaz said, “The lyrics and tune of the song are very nice. This is the second time I’ve lent my voice under Nidhi’s direction. I really love this song. I hope the audience will also like the song.”

Momotaz Begumis a popular singer of the country, who is also known as ‘The Music Queen. In her two decades career she has recorded around 700 albums.

For the first time, the singer did her playback in the film ‘Matir Moyna’ directed by Tareque Masud in 2002.  Momotaz-rendered two songs--‘Pakhita Bondi Deher Khachay’ and ‘Jodi behest Jaite Chaw Go’ were used in the film ‘Matir Moyna’.  

Momotaz won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer three times for the films ‘Nekabborer Mohaproyan’ (2014), ‘Swatta’ (2017) and ‘Maya: The Lost Mother’ (2019).
