The government will not allow Tazia procession and parade this time on the occasion of holy Ashura, considering the Covid-19 pandemic.

A circular was issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, signed by its Senior Communications Officer Mohammad Anwar Hossain, on Tuesday.

“No Tazia procession and parade will be allowed on the occasion of holy Ashura,” reads the circular.

“Following the emergency notification issued on August 6 by the Ministry of Religious Affairs the restrictions imposed on all religious institutions will remain in force,” the circular adds.

“However, all necessary religious rituals will be observed following health guidelines,” the circular also mentions.
