Cultural arena pays tribute to Bangabandhu

The cultural arena of the country paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his 46th martyrdom anniversary on Sunday.

Different socio-cultural organisations held various programmes to mark the National Mourning Day. The programmes includes, placed of wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at the city’s Dhanmondi, discussion, poetry recitation, painting exhibition, and doa-mahfil.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy arranged a discussion and cultural programme at 7:00pm on Sunday.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, Bangla Academy president Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary Md. Abul Mansur, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s Secretary Md. Asaduzzaman, Professor Dr. Nuzhat Choudhury, Poets Nirmalendu Goon, Rubi RahmanQuazi Rosy, PIB Director General and poet Zafar Wazed, Bangla Academy Director General Mohammad Nurul Huda, singers Timir Nandi, Nakib Khan, Mitali Mukherjee, Anupama Mukti, Haimanti Rakshit, among others, were present at the programme.  

The programme streamed live at the Facebook page of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Bangladesh National Museum, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote and other cultural organisations also paid tribute to Bangabandhu.

To mark the National Mourning Day Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) was organised a discussion at BFDC on the day.  

 Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television, private TV channels and radio stations also aired special programmes in observance of the National Mourning day.
