New BSCIC estate to be ready by ’21

The Rajshahi BSCIC Industrial Estate-2 project is expected to be complete this year as its major work has already been done.

The project director Engr Haider Ali informed this while Rajshahi City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and BSCIC Director (Engineering and Project Implementation) Muhammad Ataur Rahman Siddiqui paid a visit to the project site on Saturday.

About 80 percent of the project, including land development work and construction of boundary wall has been completed.

The project is being implemented on 50 acres of land in Kechuatail area of Paba upazila of Rajshahi. 

The cost of the project has been estimated at Tk 1.62 billion. Of this, land and land development expenditure is Tk 1.05 billion. The project will create some 10,000 people jobs.

The remaining Tk 60 million is being spent on construction of all industrial infrastructure, roads, drains, culverts, water, gas and power line connections, boundary wall, pump housing, offices, ponds for water conservation etc.
