Bangladesh national football team will play two FIFA friendlies against Palestine and Kyrgyzstan in Kyrgyzstan ahead of the upcoming SAFF Championship, Bangladesh Football Federation announced on Friday.
The men in red and green will take on Palestine and Kyrgyzstan respectively on September 5 and 7 while they will also play a practice match Kyrgyzstan U-23s on September 9 before the SAFF Championship, scheduled to be held on October 1-13 in Maldives.
Nabil also informed that the national team camp for the SAFF Championship will start after the Kyrgyzstan tour and Bashundhara Kings’ remaining three Bangladesh Premier League matches.
Bangladesh national football team is expected to fly to Maldives on September 27/28 for the SAFF Championship. BFF also said that they are trying to host the FIFA friendlies against Nepal and Mongolia during the second FIFA window on November 8-16.
The committee also discussed Bangladesh U-23 team’s upcoming AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers in Kuwait although no announcement was made on starting their camp.
Bangladesh U-23s, which were put in Group D along with three other teams, will play against hosts Kuwait on October 27, Uzbekistan on October 29 and Saudi Arabia on October 31.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh national team head coach Jamie Day arrived in Dhaka on Friday morning.
