The complexity related to passport printing due to technical problems with the machine readable passport (MRP) server of the Department of Immigration and Passport (DIP) in Dhaka has come to an end for the Bangladeshi expats living in the US.

A total of 1,101 passports have already been printed against 1364 applications processed from the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC, said a press release issued by the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC.

The prepared passports are expected to reach the embassy through FedEx soon, the press statement added.

According to the embassy, the applications were sent to the DIP in Dhaka between June 21 and August 12.

Ferdousi Shahriar, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Bangladesh Embassy, praised the efforts of the PID officials in resolving the issue of issuing passports to expatriates in the United States.
