Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, continued its relief distribution in various upazilas of Pabna to support the ultra-poor people badly affected by the corona pandemic.
The Kaler Kantho, one of the reputed Bengali national dailies of Bashundhara Group, provided the relief through its social organisation Shuvasangha.
Pradip Kumar, a poor boatman, is well-known to the people of the locality for having his one daughter completing BA (Hon’s) English and the other MBA. His elder son is a student of BA (Hon’s) while younger son is a 9th grader. In irony of the fate, he is fighting with poverty. None of his children has joined any job.
Shuvasangha handed over the Bashundhara Group’s relief to Pradip Kumar. Receiving the relief gift, he expressed joy and happiness saying the food items will support him for at least 10 days.
Speaking on the occasion, Upazila Parishad chairman Sahinuzzaman hailed Bashundhara Group for standing beside the destitute amid the country’s critical situation caused by Covid-19 pandemic.
Among others, municipality mayor Rezaul Karim, OC Mizanur Rahman, Satbaria Degree College principal Abdul Baset Bachchu, Sujanagar Press Club president Towfik Hasan, Satbaria union parishad chairman and freedom fighter SM Shamsul Alam and Shuvasangha director Zakaria Jaman were present.
In Sathia, Shuvasangha distributed relief among 300 vulnerable families at Mawlana Abdul Aziz auditorium in Borailmari Kamil Madrasa.
Municipality mayor Mahbubul Alam Bachchu, Upazila vice-chairman Sohel Rana Khokon, OC Asif Mohammad Siddikul Islam, and Shuvasangha director Zakaria Jaman were present.
