Prices of early variety winter vegetables were high while other vegetable prices were stable in the city kitchen markets on Friday.
Early variety bean was selling at Tk160-200 per kg while early variety cauliflower was being sold at Tk30-50 per piece at Mohammadpur Krishi market.
Production cost of those early variety vegetables is high and therefore prices are high. The vegetables are in huge demand against inadequate supply, vegetable trader Aminul said.
Other vegetable prices were stable while chicken price has increased slightly in the kitchen market.
Price of broiler chicken has increased to Tk 130-135 per kg while it was Tk 125-130 per kg a week earlier while price of Sonali chicken was Tk 210-240 per kg while it was Tk 200-220 a week earlier.
Demand of broiler chicken has increased as people started coming to capital, he said.
The prices of carrot and tomato were high. Those were sold at Tk 80-110 and Tk100-120 per kg.
Pointed guard was sold at Tk 40-50 per kg while it was sold Tk 20-30 per kg a week earlier.
Price of okra was Tk 30-40 per kg, green papaya Tk 25-30 per kg and green chili Tk 180-200 per kg.
Price of farmed Telapia fish was Tk160-180 per kg. Ruhi was selling at Tk 280-380 per kg and Mrigel at Tk 220-250 per kg.
Pabda was sold at Tk450-600 per kg and Pangshash at Tk 120-160.
