Bangladesh now earns $1 billion exporting ICT products to 80 countries annually, said Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar.

“We are now exporting $1 billion of ICT products to 80 countries. The country is also exporting digital devices as our young generation are attaining skillsin the digital sector,” he said.  The minister was addressing at a virtual inaugural session of the automation of CA Examination System Software, organized by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) on Monday.

While speaking, Mustafa Jabbar recalled that Bangabandhu, the Father of the Nation, installed the famous Betbunia satellite earth station and T&T Board launching the implementation ofhis digital Bangladesh dream.

The minister hoped that the examination software would be utilized at local and international level during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ICAB has taken 19 digital projects as a part of its digitization programme. Of them, it has progressed 75 percent of it so far.

ICAB president Mahmudul Hasan Khasru, vice presidentsMd AbdulQaderJowarder, Maria Halwader and Swadesh Ranjan Shah also attended at the session.
