350 N’ganj sex workers get food aid

Narayanganj Sadar Upazila administration on Thursday distributed essential food items among 350 sex workers under the initiative of ‘Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s humanitarian assistances to destitute people’.

The food items were handed over to the sex workers under the supervision of Narayanganj district administration to mitigate the economic hardship of the sex worker during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Narayanganj sex workers have been facing crisis as the countrywide lockdown is going on to curbs the resurgence of Covid-19 cases.

The beneficiaries received 10kgs of rice, 2kgs of pulses, 3kgs of potatoes, one liters of oil, one kg of salt, one kg onion and other essential items.

Addressing the occasion, Narayanganj district additional deputy commissioner (revenue) Md Tofazzal Hossain said that not a single person would remain hungry in the country of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Senior assistant secretaries and executive magistrates Md Nurunnabi and Md Abdul Jabbar, Narayanganj Sadar UNO Arifa Johura and assistant commissioner (Land) Md Azizur Rahman, among others, were present.
