3rd int'l confce on criminology to begin Aug 8

A two-day ‘3rd International Conference on Criminology and Forensic Science in Global South’ will begin virtually on August 8.

The Department of Criminology of Dhaka University (DU) is organising the conference in collaboration with Ryakoku University of Japan and the National Forensic Sciences University of India, said a press release.

According to the press release, the conference will mainly highlight the nature of crime in the Global South or the Third World, the judiciary and the efficacy of forensic science in the prevention of crime by various domestic and foreign scholars, researchers and analysts.

Prof Dr Kerry Carrington of Queensland University of Technology, Prof Dr Zia Rahman of DU Criminology Department, Dr JM Vyas, Vice Chancellor of National Forensic Sciences University of India and Prof Shinichi-ISHIZUKA, Director of Criminal Research Centre of Ryakoku University will be present as keynote speakers.

28 papers on important issues such as criminological theories, importance of criminology in third world countries, cybercrime, juvenile delinquencies, organized crime, offender treatment, criminal justice system, forensic sciences etc. will be highlighted at the conference.
