5th Dhaka DocLab to begin on August 28

The fifth edition of Dhaka DocLab, an international workshop-cum-market pitching programme for promoting South Asian filmmakers in international market, will begin on August 28. 

Due to ongoing pandemic the festival will be held virtually, according to the organisers.

The month-long event feature with some important sessions--The Narrative Lab with South Asian and Asia-Pacific Projects will be held on August 28-31, Projects at Work in Progress or Rough Cut stage on September 8-9 and September 11, Pitching Session on September 18-19, Business Meetings on September 21-25 and the closing and award giving ceremony on September 27.

Dhaka DocLab is the pioneer platform for pitching and mentoring of documentary filmmakers. Dhaka DocLab organises an annual event of pitching for South Asian documentary filmmakers. Besides, Dhaka DocLab engages itself through organising workshops, masterclasses, seminars for documentary filmmakers of Bangladesh.

The Lab wishes to be a productive hub for South Asian creative content and reality storytelling.

Documentary Filmmakers from Asia, who has a particular project, in any stage of the production phase, can submit in Dhaka DocLab.

There is no entry fee for submitting the project at the beginning. Only the selected project’s participant needs to pay the participation fee (as mentioned in detail later).
