Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 381 people from different parts of the capital on charges of violating health rules on Friday, on the eighth day of the two week-long strict lockdown.
During this time, mobile courts fined 108 people Tk 67,940 while its traffic division fined 321 vehicles Tk 8,17,000.
Police set up barricades and checkpoints at all important points of the city to monitor the movement of vehicles as well as people.
Amid the strict lockdown, hundreds of passengers and private vehicles are returning to the capital via Daulatdia-Paturia and Banglabazar-Shimulia ferry terminals.
Many of these passengers were not found wearing masks.
