The 120th birth anniversary of Comrade Moni Singh, former president of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), will be observed today.
He was a member of the advisory council of the provisional government of Bangladesh during the 1971 Liberation War.
They will also place wreaths at his monument at Postogola crematorium in the city today.
Born in Kolkata on July 28 in 1901, he shifted to Durgapur in Mymensingh (present Netrakona) with his mother after his father’s death. An Independence Award recipient, he died in 1990 at the age of 84.
