Former finance minister and Awami League central advisory council member Abul Maal Abdul Muhith has tested positive for coronavirus.

The veteran leader, who  has been physically ill for the past few days, tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

Shahed Muhith, eldest son of the former minister, has also been suffering from the viral disease.

The 87-year-old leader is currently staying at his Banani residence and taking treatment following doctor’s advice. His physical condition is fairly good so far.

Abul Maal Abdul Muhith’s younger brother ASA Muiz Sujan, chairman of Palli Shishu Foundation and Delta Hospital in the capital, on behalf of the family, has asked for blessings for Muhith’s quick recovery.
