Bangladesh Awami Swechchhasebak League, an associate organisation of Awami League, will celebrate its 27th founding anniversary today on a limited scale through various programmes.
On this day in 1994, the Swechchhasebak League was founded as an AL’s associate body as per the directives of ruling party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
As part of the programmes, the national and party flags will be hoisted in front of its central office in the capital along with its all offices at the district, city, upazila and ward levels at 6:00 am.
The leaders and activists of the organisation will pay tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi 32 at 9:00am.
A discussion will be held at the Swechchhasebak League central office in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue at 4:00pm, in where Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina will address virtually as the chief guest.
At the outset of the discussion, a 5.31-minute documentary on the last one year’s activities of the organisation will be screened, while a book titled ‘Swechchhasebar Ek Bochhor’ will be unveiled.
Later, the Swechchhasebak League leaders will cut a cake on the occasion of the birthday of Prime Minister’s Information and Communication Technology Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy and offer doa seeking his long life and good health.
