Biman carries ventilators from Delhi at no charge

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has carried 250 ventilators, a gift from expatriate Bangladeshi doctors living in the USA and Canada, to Dhaka from Delhi at free of cost.

A special cargo flight BG 4098 of Biman transported the ventilators weighing 3 tons in 500 cartons and other related medical equipments on July 24, said a press release issued by the national flag carrier.

When these essential goods reached Bangladesh, cargo handling facility were also provided at free of cost, the release added.

Biman has been transporting vaccines, ventilators and other protective equipment amid the coronavirus epidemic maintaining strict compliance with international aviation policy and the World Health Organisation’s safety protocol. Biman Bangladesh Airlines has already transported 4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines produced by Sinopharm and purchased from China to the country through special flights on 2nd, 3rd, 16th and 17th of July.

The airline will soon operate several more such flights to meet the country’s needs.

During the beginning of the pandemic, a special Biman flight BG-6002, brought 314 Bangladeshi passengers from Wuhan in China on February 1, 2020.
