Kuwait has proposed that Bangladesh should overview relationships between the two countries to form a joint committee at Foreign Ministers (FM) level to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah made this proposal during a meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Friday.The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister also seek Bangladesh’s assistance and cooperation in strengthening health institutions, food security, education, IT and cyber security of both the brotherly countries.
According to a Foreign Ministry press release on Sunday, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen had a meeting with Foreign Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the international conference titled “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity, Challenges and Opportunities” on July 16 in Tashkent.
Ministers of both countries expressed their happiness at the level of existing bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Kuwait.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister expressed his readiness to continue peacekeeping troops, to establish a Forum of South-South Finance Development, to recruit more Bangladeshi skilled workers and to create more favorable environment for Bangladeshi businesspersons in Kuwait.
Foreign Minister Momen expressed his gratitude to Kuwait government for supporting resolution on Human Right Commission to repatriate Rohingyas to Myanmar.
