Banks will remain open this Tuesday in the country’s industrial zones to facilitate distribution of wages and export-import related activities.
As per the instructions of Bangladesh Bank, the respected wings of the banks’ head offices in the capital Dhaka will also be open.However, as part of three-day Eid-ul-Azha holidays, all other branches across the country will be closed on the day.
Banks were also open on Saturday at the industrial areas in Dhaka and Chattogram to facilitate the payment of wages, bonus and allowance to garment factory workers and clearance the document related to export-import.
As per the instructions of the central bank, the transactions are made in banks from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday.
In similar schedule, the banks will be operated with limited manpower on Tuesday (July 20) as last working day before Eid-ul-Azha only in the industrial areas to facilitate last time payment of the salary-bonus-allowance and other transaction.
The bank will be open till 3:30 pm to complete the ancillary activities after the transaction.
The branches that will be open are: Dhaka Metropolitan, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and Chattogram. Bangladesh Bank's Department of Off-site Supervision issued the instruction of banking operation with special arrangement for the areas of Dhaka Metropolitan, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and Chattogram.
