Bangladesh is going to receive more 20 lakh doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine from China on Saturday.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) sources said the Covid-19 vaccines will arrive in two separate flights, with the first set to land at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11:45pm on the day.Some 20 lakh doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, purchased from China by the Bangladesh government commercially, arrived in Dhaka on July 2-3.
Earlier, Bangladesh received 11 lakh doses of Sinopharm vaccine from China as a gift in two occasions in May and June last. Bangladesh has purchased 1.5 crore doses of vaccine from Sinopharm.
The vaccine is expected to arrive in the country within three months.
