31 people, instts sued

Mobile courts of Dhaka South City Corporation and Dhaka North City Corporation during anti-mosquito drives on Monday sued 31 persons and institutions on charge of having mosquito larvae in their houses and establishments.    

The city corporations also realised around Tk 6,00,000 in fines and destroyed the larvae of Aedes in different houses and establishments during the drives. 

DSCC conducted six mobile courts in Elephant Road, Central Road, Motijheel, Hazaribagh, Kadamtali, Dakkhin Jatrabari and Donia areas and inspected 199 houses and establishments.

They sued 17 persons and institutions for housing Aedes inside their buildings and realised more than Tk 3,00,000 in fines.

On the other hand, DNCC conducted four mobile courts under its jurisdiction and sued the owners of 14 establishments and fined them Tk 2,91,000 for having Aedes larvae, said a press release.
